The Legend of Blackbeard

Edward Teach - The most famous pirate of all time

E. Teach was born in 1680 in England and never dreamed that he would one day be the most feared pirate in the Caribbean. As a young sailor, he joined the British Royal Navy. While serving in the navy, E. Teach excelled in virtually everything. He was a man of tall stature, intelligent, articulate and very charismatic. The monotonous and dull service in the Royal Navy soon bored him. Aware of his strengths and the importance of his reputation, he began to spread incredible stories about himself that made him seem almost otherworldly. In 1716, at the age of 36, he decided to leave the Royal Navy and entered the service of the feared pirate Benjamin Hornigold. He soon became commander of one of the ships, where he earned the admiration and respect of the crew. When B. Hornigold decided to retire as a pirate, it was a foregone conclusion who would take over the captaincy. On that day, Edwar Teach took the name Blackbeard. On 28 November 1717, he and his crew attacked the French slave ship La Concorde. He captured the vessel and renamed it the Queen Anne's Revenge. He additionally armed the ship with 40 cannons and declared it the flagship of the pirate fleet. Blackbeard relentlessly attacked and robbed French and Spanish ships loaded with precious spices and gold, but also took the liberty of kidnapping prominent persons for whom he demanded a hefty ransom. Blackbeard had only one limit which he could not cross, and he was well aware of it. His rampage in the Caribbean was not to fall on British ships. But with food comes appetite, and the famous pirate broke this unwritten rule. He was so successful in his plundering that his activities threatened the interests of the British Crown, and this proved fatal to him. On November 21, 1718, Blackbeard was tracked down by a British fleet under Lieutenant Maynard. A naval battle ensued, the story of which is still told in the Caribbean today. When it appeared that the British ships were about to be destroyed, Blackbeard was killed by twenty stab wounds and five gunshot wounds. When it was over, the British threw Blackbeard's body overboard. The captured pirates, who were taken to England to stand trial, as well as the British sailors, all testified in unison that the body of Blackbeard circled the ship several times and then disappeared into the depths.

Quality

The ship is well crafted and the pieces fit together exactly as they should. The keel of the boat is flat, so you can display it without a special stand. The sails stretched on the masts are made of textile and some are printed with the pirate emblem.

Details

The kit contains a lot of details from the transparent stern, through the masts and their cables, the sub-deck to the functional launching anchors at the bow or the tilting gun covers. The pirates probably thrived on the ship because it has gold detailing around the captain's quarters and on the sides of the ship.
